Artist's Comments

A world which she does not know passes her, she is afraid but her childish curiosity drives her.. she will not cross the line between 'us' and 'them' but looks on in hopeless wonder.

I don't know if I've ever told you how much I love this shot - and you described it perfectly.
:iconamor-fati:
aw no you never have- but thank you.
:iconcounterfeitgimp:
wow, that's a really beautiful shot. where was it taken? looks like it was taken on a school trip somewhere
:iconamor-fati:
Thanks so much :) It was taken on a school trip to Peru- good eye!

This is really awesome shot, Jenny and as others here, I think too You have seen the story from the girls expression in this image really perfectly - I like this kind of realism, even though the differences between the worlds makes one a bit sad and yet I hope that girl is living a happy life on her way in their own world... Some school trip?! I'm jeallous as here the trips are just to some boring stone ruins, or a cruise on the sea going nowhere! Well, we did one to London - that was pretty amazing :)

I'm glad you get the sense of sadness.. It must be so hard and confusing for someone so young in that world see such a difference and not know why. I bet she is happy, children have that wonderful skill at finding joy in the smallest things.
The school trip was amazing, for our graduation.. I bet you I'd be very jealous of all yout 'boring' trips, in fact, Im envious of where you live period! I want to see Finland! Thank you so much for your comments Henrik :)

It's a pleasure to comment Your Art, when my words have a meaning, which i often doubt  That is right, children and the very old are happy about so little, that's why it's a shame some grow up sometime - I fear that. But Jenny, about Finland -it's nothing to envy about, this is lovely to visit, but living? Well, it's OK as long one is satisfied to do as supposed - I've often dreamed about Canada, one of the most human places to live, New Zealand is told to be best for an individual... But here's couple links :) "Enchanting Finland" [link] and [link] ... Take a look!

Thanks for the link, I suppose the saying 'the grass is always greener' really applies.. I bet people in NZ are dying to live in Finland.. what exactly do you mean by satisfied to do as your supposed to? Are there strict demands on behaviour and such?

My pleasure, Jenny. Hope You liked the info about Finland? Perhabs we got not more strict demands on behaviour and such, than any other European country, but people are not guestioning the decissions, not even the lack of making decissions in society and we are very jeallous, so it's difficoult for individuals to create something new, or being productive ... The tax-system and laws makes enterprising for a jungle killing all creativity... But it's not different in other places, we just believe the grass is always greener over there - Abroad one is always a stranger after all, but I have never felt I belong here - that makes one sad and frustrated... But maybe we talk of this lates some other time :)
